6th grade boy Christmas

Anonymous
Really would love to find a fun gift that isn't a video game. I am so sick of video games, but that is a topic for another thread!

Any ideas? The thread for 6th grade girls inspired me to start this topic. Apologies if it has been covered and I missed it.

THanks!

What's he in to? Mine asked for "trick scooter" and an expensive basketball (Evolution basketball). Grandparents are getting him a subscription to "tinker box"

My 6th grade son has about 20 nerf guns and various paraphernalia for them on his list—rounded out with some Pokémon box sets.

Mine is getting nerf blaster/darts, a mechanized technic lego set, fancyNike sneakers (bought on the cheap on a 50% black Friday sale), laser tag, some baseball stuff and of course, video games.

What is he into OP? What about his own tool bag or camping type stuff (sleeping bag, flashlight, etc)?

Mine wants cash.

I am thinking of getting my 6th grade boy a Hexbug Battlebots set (I also just posted in another thread seeking feedback about it). Maybe that's a video-game alternative for yours?

Is HE tired of video games? Are you getting him the gift he wants or the gift you want to give him? If it is the latter then it is not a gift.

My 6th grader is getting some basketball training gear (like a dribble stick), some apparel with his favorite sports teams, and both him and his little brother are asking for "Magic the Gathering" trading cards.

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. Really great ideas! We had purchased some sports video games, soccer goal and some technic legos. Glad to see this matches to what is popular right now.

Really liked the idea above of "Tinker Box" but couldn't find any recent information online. Any leads PP?

DH just bough Laser X laser tag gun set -- it isn't exactly a video game, but it is something that your DS can play outside with friends or solo at home with the tower (sold separately). The reviews look really good...it is sold at Target, Toys R Us, Child's Play. We bought the long-range laser guns.

Laser X was going to be my recommendation too.
