Theatre groups, sports leagues - activities out of the house for an au pair?

We have a great au pair who has voiced a desire to really get to know American culture through sports leagues, theatre groups, etc. She is really a super girl, but I'm way out of my element here - it is all I can do to find time to empty the dishwasher some nights! Does anyone have any recommendations for a young twenty-something looking to get involved? She said that she loves basketball and American soccer and was involved in theatre back home. We live in the District, so any recommendations here would be great. Thank you so much!

Studio Theatre has evening classes- and some for teens if I'm not mistaken. There are always opprotunities for community theatre in the DC area
