Has this been posted? This 16yo from Louisiana finds out he got into Harvard and he and his classmates go nuts. I love it! You can feel their excitement.
Apparently, his 17yo brother found out he got into Stanford the same day. https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/12/14/570971616/in-viral-video-harvard-says-yes-to-16-year-old-applicant-and-classmates-go-wild?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=2043 |
| That’s such a great video |
| I started crying from joy when I saw this. |
|
So much energy - love it.
What happens if they don't get in though?
|
| Awesome! |
| that was the best! |
| It's so cool that he found out surrounded by his friends. My cousin found out today he got into Yale and was home with his mom. |
| I saw the video yesterday morning on TV. The kid must got a likely letter or something like that. Most kids would check the email alone because the chance to get in is very small. |
| Could it just once be a white middle class kid? |
Yes those poor white kids, just wasting away in the suburbs. |
Yes, there are plenty of them. What outreach is Harvard making to them? |
OP here. From the article: "TM Landry has a tradition of filming students as they learn whether they got into college, and posting the (happy) results. Check out a series of reactions on the school's Facebook page." |
Here is a poor white kid is that good or do you want a middle class kid? http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/07/us/from-janitor-to-harvard/index.html |
Nobody would be interested in such privilege. I noticed the Harvard kid 100% scrubbed his social media. What's that about? |
| He is a smart kid and he attends a private college prep academy that prides itself on getting kids not just into college but through college. Smart kids applying to college know, or their mentors make sure they know students need to have clean social media presence. |
