| My husband and I were just talking and neither of us have watched Netflix for a while and think we may cancel with this upcoming price increase. We find plenty to watch on Hulu and Amazon. Netflix's new original shows have been falling short for me and I hate how they no longer show the ratings of movies and shows. I was just browsing their site looking for something to watch tonight, and a movie that was supposedly a 98% match for us was listed as 2/10 on IMBD. I'm not wasting my time on that. I also hate how things automatically start playing when I'm just trying to read what it's about. |
| No. Its excellent, we use it all the time and we have about 75% more content than Netflix subscribers in the UK. |
| No. The increase of $12 per year will not kill us. |
| Our family watches Netflix every day. Peaky Blinders comes back right before Christmas--can't wait! |
+1. Also, it's still much cheaper than cable or going out to the movies. |
| I’ve been using Netflix since 1999, when I paid around $20/mo for four DVDs. The price increase seems pretty insignificant when you look at what you’re getting, IMO,’compared to what you got for more almost 20 years ago. |
| Why do you trust netflix’s rating system more than IMDb? Why trust ratings at all? |
| I dropped it b/c of the sh*tty Anne of Green Gables. |
I don't trust it, that's the point. It used to show the combined rating of other Netflix users and it no longer does that. It uses other shows that you have given a thumbs up, to find new recommendations. We have found those recommendations to be horrible. |
| We dropped it. Not that much new. |
| Nope, even if T mobile didn't pay for my Netflix subscription I'd still pay - even with the increase. My family uses Netflix regularly. |
| No. I think it's a great bargain. We cut cable and almost never have to buy a program because Netflix programming is great and getting better all the time. |
This is true, but I was surprised to see Broadchurch recently advertising "new episodes," meaning season 3. I was incredibly confused because I'd already watched season 3 on my Netflix account over the summer--then I remembered I'd been in Israel at the time. So not only did my US account work with an Israeli IP address, there was extra content available that disappeared once I was back in the States. Makes me want to run it with a VPN and see exactly what else we're missing. But no, I'm not canceling over such a small increase. I use Netflix all the time. |
Not really relevant. |
+1 I've had it since 2002. No intentions to discontinue. Cutting cable was awesome though, don't miss it one bit. |
