do I have to give all teachers the same present?

DC has a special ed teacher whom I love and who has gone above and beyond for us, a gen ed English teacher who has basically ignored my kid, and a gen ed math teacher who is just fine. Plus three related service providers who each spend different amounts of time with DC. Can I give them different value gift cards to reflect my feelings about each of them?

No, but I'd keep it similar as they do compare. It does add up.

I think it is fine to give different amounts. I am a teacher and I have never seen teachers comparing who gave how much to which person. The only gifts that are talked about are the ones that touch our hearts, think notes from a child, or really crazy gifts or inappropriate gifts. I give different amounts to different teachers based on how much they have invested in my child.

I’d give more to the special ed teacher and the aides. Less for the gen-ed teachers that see him less.
