Yes, and in this case it’s a relatively small amount anyway.

It's fine, but don't expect the estranged child to support you or visit you when you are sick. My parents cut me out of their will and are now begging for money, visits, etc.

My mom should have done this with my sister, who made her life miserable in final years and got a lot of money and stuff from her, then refused to visit or call anytime she wasn't indulged. She's tried the same bit with me. No way. I'm having her miserable self for Xmas but she knows any requests for things/money and she'll be moved to a nearby hotel.

It sounds like he blamed his daughter for the fact that he chose not to be present in her life when she was growing up. Very sad for her.

Many people choose to leave a nominal amount so thAt it does not appear to be an oversight. If the courts think it was unintentional, then the left out child will he added back in. But by leaving a nominal amount, it’s clear that the child was considered.

I'm shocked that after all his stardom - from the Partridge Family, to millions of albums sold, to Vegas shows - that all he had was $150,000. My parents, on a single-income during their working years, have amassed $2 million with an average middle-class job (with no pension), and raising three kids.

It’s easy to say this and sometimes you’re spot on.

Athletes and entertainers though are often targeted by very sly people. That and their egos are fed constantly by the sycophants behind them. Combine that, and they become easy prey. I advised a few high profile people who came to their senses after being targeted and I witnessed the downright theft of millions and millions. Given the high profiles and egos involved, this is frequently hushed up. It’s sad and not really dissimilar to those who win the lottery.

They refuse to liquidate assets (valuable real estate) so now they want cash or "loans" against their estate.
