Where do tween girls shop?

Have to buy a gift for my 10 year old niece, and she wants clothes. I've checked the GAP -- other ideas?

Can you ask her parents where she usually gets her clothes?

Justice, American Eagle, Aeropostale, Old Navy...

Ask her parents where she'd like to have a gift card

Get gift card and an inexpensive accessory or t-shirt from H&M, Old Navy, Zara, Target

Ten is a hard age because some are still shopping at Justice and others have moved up to H&M, Zara, and Forever 21.

Old Navy is always a safe bet.

Thanks!! My sister NEVER responds to text messages or voice mails, so that's why I am not counting on getting her input. This is all really helpful!

Athleta and Nordstrom - anything that looks comfy/work out type wear is what my 11 year old wants to wear.

My daughter is now 15 and has NEVER shopped at either of those two stores. As a 10 yr old she wore Old Navy and Macy's.

Old Navy, The Gap, Forever 21, Garage

or you could do a general mall type of gift card, say to Tysons and then she can shop in any store.

If you're near Potomac, I would look at On Cloud Nine - very trendy stuff but cute and tweens love it.

Kohls. Old Navy, Macy's, Justice is still in for 10 yr olds. That's the prime age! It's 4th grade.

Lululemon / Iviva, Brandy Melville, Nordstrom.

Lilly, Lululemon, Nordstrom - in no particular order.

Since it is your niece (and you won't be able to return easily) keep in mind that the Lilly return policy is restrictive with a really short window so it may not be a good bet in this case unless you go shopping with your niece or she picks out something out ahead of time.

Nordstrom, though, is always good about returns and if you call for a personal shopper you will get a GREAT selection to choose from in your price range!

My tween DD wouldn't be caught dead in Lilly. OP, you need to gauge your niece's style first - is she on the sporty or on the frilly side?
