Anyone ever been able to fly in their dreams?

| I have and it is an absolutely exhilarating experience! Those dreams do not happen often, but when they do it is pure euphoria. In the dreams the flying always seems so natural, as if by day it's simply a skill the brain hasn't pressed the "on" button for. |

| Oh, yes, often. And I'm able to fly very low and see things with such detail and bright colors. I agree, they are fun dreams! |

| I could. Sometimes I remember having to navigate around objects but it wasn't hard. And I remember sometimes it took some effort to take flight. Those were great dreams. Decades ago. I had a newish job and was newly married. Do you think the dreams were for any particular reason? |

OP here, correct! The flying is not a soaring type of flight like an eagle, but close to the ground like a bumble bee. I just had my first the other night in several years and I realized how much I missed those types of dreams. I have even been able to levitate in some dreams, which is a distinctly different, but equally awesome sensation.

| Huh. I used to have flying dreams as well as those jarring falling dreams. This post makes me realize it's been a very long time for both. |

| Yes, but it always took effort to get and stay off the ground. I flew in dreams by doing the breaststroke, usually to get away from something. |

| Yes, but only straight up and high enough that people can't reach me. Love that dream. I'd jump up and move my hands until I'm about 3 meters from the ground. |
