STBXW took virtually all the martial property: furniture, decor, household items, plates, cleaning supplies, grille, you name it. A big house full of it.
I took my family heirlooms and antiques, the stuff from my home office, and a few other things like tools. Far less "stuff". How the hell do I value what she kept? Anyone been in this boat? |

You’re supposed to value it for what you’d get at a yard sale, Craigslist, eBay. KBB for cars.
Not what you paid for it or what it costs to replace. Any real antiques or truly high value items, would have been evaluated for your insurance, so that shouldn’t be a problem. How did your lawyer NOT tell you this? |
I'm working on the agreement right now (previous lawyer, now fired, drafted the agreement) and I'm raising these issues for the new lawyer. As with most things I figured there was more than one way to skin this proverbial cat. |
