Or was it the term "cosmetic dermatologist" that threw you off? Are they called something different?
Recommend you botox/laser/peel person PLEASE! |
| I'm a big fan of the laser and recommend Richard Castiello in Chevy Chase. He and Tina Alster are considered to be the tops, but she is not taking any new clients. |

Wonderful, wonderful experience at Belmont Plastic Surgery. Dr. Feledy did my botox and Donna did my peel. He is fantastic, of course. Donna, is amazing. She pulled out samples of product after product told me what they did let me try them, explained everything!

| I LOVE my dermatologist but haven't gotten Botox from her. I know she offers it though: Dr. Sandra Seaman. |
| Love my dermatologist and am getting botox from him next week. Dr. Brooks in G-Town. He rocks. |
| Dr. Fuchs is highly regarded. |
I see Dr. Castiello's partner Dr. Gunning for Botox. They're both great! |
| Did you know that Dr. Gunning has just left the practice? I loved him, too. |
| NO! Do you know where he went? I saw him not too long ago and had no idea he was leaving. |
| Dr. Gunning left just before Labor Day. No idea where he went but I'm thinking Maryland. I'm sure someone at the office could tell you. |
| I certainly don't get botox. There is nothing like talking to someone who's face doesn't show expression. My friends who have it done brag about the fact that you can't tell, but sister, you can. |
| What does the peel do? Why/When would you get one? |
12:14 here That's how I feel....I do at home masks and stuff, but never the real deal. I was there getting botox and i asked about my huge pores. So Donna started telling me about products she likes and that's why they carry them. She told me about the peels. I not only have big pores, but my skin is not even in color. I have freckles, but it seems that some are sun damage spots. The peel took them off. |
| NP here. 22:41, what did your skin look like right after the peel? Pink? Red? That's what makes me nervous about getting one, but I am considering it. |

There are different levels of peels. Most of them leave you looking sunburned. About 5 days later, your skin starts to peel. It is very noticeable. Don't let the doctor tell you it's not a big deal esp. if it's a man. As your skin peels, the color gets blotchy and it really is a full 2 weeks before you start to look normal again.
You also need to remember that you can't do sun for months after a peel and have to wear a heavy-duty sunblock. A laser usually offers less down time if you have spot treatments. That's because the laser is not taking off layers of skin but going underneath to zap the color. Docs are doing fewer peels and more laser work. |
