| Does anybody know about this guy? I've seen him a lot at Forest Hills playground. He sets up a portable stereo playing jazz (often Bill Evans, for what that's worth) near the equipment outside the playground and occasionally does exercises. I've seen him inside the fence to get water, but otherwise he hangs out outside the playground. This weekend I saw him at Chevy Chase playground. Same thing, except he was actually doing his exercises on the equipment in the playground. He's in his 30's, I'd say, tall, very fit (from all that exercising, no doubt), white, straight brown hair, glasses. He creeps me out. |
| call the police |
| He used to hang out in the playground in Friendship Heights (on Willard Avenue) and pleasure himself. Call the cops, the guy is a pedo. |
| I hate when this guy is at the playground - usually Forest Hills but sometimes Livingston/Friendship Heights. I feel like I have to keep a hawk eye on my children. However, I can't think of any reason to call the cops. This is also why adult workout equipment which never gets used but older community members always advocate for when playgrounds are redone is out of place. I wish they had signs like they do in NYC that adults without children are not allowed. Then there would be a reason to call the cops. |
| Ugh I hate this guy. Creepy as shit. Are there any legal grounds to call the cops on him? |
| I see him at Chevy Chase playground often; he used to work at City Fitness in Cleveland Park as a personal trainer. |
| I don't know the law in the state of MD but in CA, unless an adult is accompanying children in the playground, they are not supposed to be there and definitely not supposed to be using the equipment for their "workouts". |
In certain jurisdictions registered sex offenders cannot go a certain number of feet near schools, parks, and/or childcare centers. I bet MoCo has something like this on the books. Trust your instincts and call the cops. They can handle the rest. |
I had no idea this could be illegal! I will often do pull-ups on the monkey bars after my morning run and am by myself. |

Not sure if this is the same guy but here's some info from someone on the board - but back in 2015 - I removed the gentleman's name in case it is someone different. But sounds like complaining to the police as well as you ANC rep is a start.
"We've been dealing with the gentleman - since early August, working very closely with the Lt., ANC Commissioners, DC Councilwoman Mary Cheh and the most senior level of the DC Department of Parks and Recreations (DPR). I had a long conversation with XXXX on Saturday when he showed up during our Halloween event. He respectfully turned off the music when asked. A couple of our members even spoke in lengthen with his parents and uncle about this ongoing issue we continue to receive complaints about (mostly from neighbors, as you noted). We even had "park closed after dark" signs put up by DPR a couple weeks ago to allow better enforcement too. XXXX told me that if people ask him to turn down his music that he will do so. However, at the end of the day, if his music is too loud you may want to call the police if not comfortable approaching him. He was very nice and cooperative with me but I have heard mixed reviews from others who claim he was argumentative. I have never personally seen that side of him and a couple people who know him told me positive things about him. The police are all very familiar with this situation and have increased their rounds. Hope this background helps. Your ANC Commissioner is the lead in addressing it with all involved highlighted above. |

Well - putting the adult playground /workout equipment sufficiently far away from the children’s equipment would work nicely. |
| I hate to say it but if this guy was black, you all would have called the cops on him in a heartbeat |
| BS. There is an older black man who frequents the picnic shelter in front of the Livingston playground rec building. He appears homeless and he’s been showing up there for years. He doesn’t bother anyone and it appears that no one bothers him. I’m not aware of anyone having called the cops. |
Yeah, no. No one has ever called the cops on Mac,the large homeless black guy who lives at Livingston, because e minds his own business and is clearly not a threat. Whereas weird jazz workout guy clearly has something off about him and gives everyone the creeps. Back on topic, who was the ANC person who dealt with him last tome? |
