13 yr old talks super fast and non stop

Hi my 13 year old talks super fast and non stop. She even talks to herself all over the house in her room and in the bathroom. My concern is that if she does this at school people will think it is weird. She is extremely bright and doesn't have a lot of friends. She is really busy with sports, music, school, etc. I don't think this behavior will change at this point??

Lots of kids do this. I wouldn't worry unless she's saying disturbing things like Red Rum or something.

Is her speech so fast that intelligibility is affected? Is she dropping sounds or syllables so that her message is lost?

Have her take a Debate Class.

I’m very serious. Great outlet, and will help her learn to at least think through what she says.

There is an app that you can use that tracks by color the voices of who is speaking in a conversation and you can look at the screen and show her, see that purple, that's you, see that tiny dot of green, that's me. a visual to show how much she dominates conversations can be eye opening to a kid. Sorry, I can't remember the name of it.

Also, get some games focused on communication, or play games like charades or pictionary where she has to communicate without talking, or backseat drawing where she has to really listen to someone else.

A few sessions with a speech language therapist on pragmatics can help a lot too.
