Good tourist guidebook for Ireland?

Can you suggest a good guidebook for a first-time visitor to Ireland? Lonely Planet, I guess.

Thank you.

Some people don't dig Rick Steves, but I've found his recommendations helpful.

Agree with Rick Steves. I'm met him a few times and he's not a likable person when you talk to him but his books are perfect for first time travelers. I visited Ireland in May this year.

My biggest tip, fly into Shannon Airport and rent a car for the trip. With Shannon being a slower pace, rural area, learning to drive on the left side of the road is MUCH easier here. By the time you get to Dublin to fly home you're be driving like a local. When you do get to Dublin just return your car to the airport location and then take a taxi to your hotel in the city. As for hotels I'd totally recommend the Brooks in Dublin, walkable to everything.

When your ready to fly home out of Dublin just take another taxi to the airport. Very easy.
