Coffee with fat?

Do any of you mix your coffee with oil or butter (ala Bulletproof)? I've been reading more about the benefits, but I'm confused - do you drink this and skip breakfast? Possible to make without a blender? Any benefits you've noticed? I typically drink my coffee black, and eat plenty of healthy fats during the day (avocados, nuts, olive oil).

I put a banana peel in mine.

I started drinking it with butter before it became "a thing." I just stir a little pad - maybe 1/2 - 1 teaspoon - right after I pour it into the mug.

I originally did it because I thought it may cut the acidity - I use salted butter and a little salt in your coffee really works!
It also, quite literally. makes the coffee smoother.

I think the official "bulletproof" version is made differently, so don't go with my simplistic approach.

As for benefits and is it meant to replace a meal? Excellent question. Definitely not my version but if the real Bulletproof version somehow includes the nutrients you need, than perhaps so.

Glad you started this thread - now I'm interested too

I was on that thread the other day as well. Thank you for making me choke on my coffee ... still laughing.

I think this was a trendy thing for awhile but it's now been disproven as a good thing.

Have your coffee the way you want it and have your healthy fats elsewhere. How about a piece of avocado toast with your coffee? I know the hipsters like the avocado toast too.

Trybit with heavy whipping cream. It is devine.

If you put cream in your coffee it’s the same thing, dummies.

Sprinkle with avocado seed peel crumbles. Even better.

It has been a good week over on the food forum. I'm still chortling over Big Lentil as well.

This is the glorious time of year where food forum shines! And, uh, family relationships of course. And probably politics but I'm not going into that den of crazy.
