Open Houses

Any idea when schools will start posting open house dates on the myschooldc site?

myschooldc typically doesn't have the calendar together/updated until close to EdFest (12/9). I hope they are able to roll it out sooner this year, but TBD.

Some individual schools have already scheduled open houses and put them on their web sites.

Whittier Education Campus open houses are 10-11 am on:
December 13, 2017
January 10, 2018
February 7, 2018
April 4, 2018

We also invite prospective families to attend our monthly PTA meetings if they want to come meet some of us in the evenings. The next one is at 5:30 this Thursday, November 16, and our Early Childhood team is presenting. We have childcare available.

If you can't make any of those times, email jgwhittierpta@gmail.com and we'll try to arrange a tour with a current parent.

This doesn’t have all. Deal, for example, is missing.

Creative Minds open house schedule:
Saturday, 12/2, 9:30-10:30 am
Wednesday, 1/10, 6:15-7:15 pm
Wednesday, 2/7, 6:15-7:15 pm

Last year there wasn't registration required for any of them, guessing that's the case this year as well but not 100%.

Go to EdFest. Open houses are a waste of time.

I found the opposite to be true. I want to see inside the school, take a tour and ask questions. Not stand in a packed line to pick up brochures at a table at Ed Fest.

Im trying to find a schedule for Stokes. Nothing on their website and no one responds to emails.

I mostly agree but some are so crowded and the staff so off putting it’s a downer.

Case in point: Stokes, CMI. Makes you feel like you won’t ever get in why bother.

CMI parent here, I've done Ed Fest, can you let me know what specifically we can do to improve (or what we may have said to give you that impression) so I/we can do a better job this year?
