MIL gifts

What was the last gift your or your SO bought your MIL that she loved?

We have a great relationship, and my DH would gladly take care of this gift, but I'm just looking for a new idea.

Not particularly creative but plane tickets to visit us and a photo book filled with pictures of DD. MIL was over the moon.

My greedy MIL always expects more. Her baby boy owes her for his existence, don’t you know! So the answer is simply, nothing.

Think DH bought her a card for her birthday this year, because she started hinting she wanted an Apple watch after we got them for each other for our anniversary. This was the year after we got her a new iPad.

Well alright then. What a weird turn this thread took.

Cashmere twin set. She loved it. We’ve also gotten her Moscow mule mugs, a quilt, and a hand-painted table cloth. I adore my MIL but she can be kind of picky about gifts, these are the ones she hasn’t returned.

Well DH hasn't bought his mom a gift in over 15 years, so I can't remember if she liked it or not.

I normally get MIL gardening gifts. Fancier ones than the standard gloves or knives.

I like the table cloth idea. Any place in particular you bought it from? My MIL uses a table cloth daily on her breakfast table.

Regal Cinemas gift cards so she can take friends to movies.

Throw blanket with down filling, for tv-watching

Wireless weather station, so that she can see the outside temperature from the station inside the house

Red leather gloves with cashmere lining

Hand-knit scarf (that I made)

Slippers with sherpa lining

These are small luxuries that she enjoys but would never buy for herself.

I have also given her a basket filled with current, well-recommended novels and snacks from Trader Joe's, along with hand cream and some crossword puzzle books.

We got beach towels from Lands End with their grandparent nicknames on them (for both MIL and FIL). They LOVE them and trot them out proudly all summer at the pool.

Just got mine an Instant Pot when it was on sale! She protested that she doesn't need another kitchen gadget, but likes it all the same (she has used mine and liked it)
