Hi Jeff-
I appreciate what you do with this site. This is a sincere, non- defensive question. An individual posted saying they thought they had listed in the wrong time of the year. They gave a significant amount of identifying information about their house. I have been watching the market closely since we are considering a move, and was able to quickly identify the house (I think). I posted a link, and expressed the opinion that is was drastically overpriced, and then also posted a link to a comp that was recently sold for 200k less. The thread is still there- but my specific post was deleted. I want to know what was inappropriate, because I appreciate your work and don't want to do anything that is against your terms of service. Is linking the specific houses not allowed? Would it have been okay if I essentially posted the same thing- but without the link? I'm assuming linking the comps was okay? Or was that a problem too? |

The OP of the thread asked for the post to be removed because she didn’t want her specific listing to be discussed. Based on what you are saying, I misunderstood the request because I thought the OP had posted the link and then had second thoughts.
Yes, you can post without including the link. |
Hi. I’m the Op Your response was very respectful and well reasoned. I did appreciate that feedback. I just didn’t want my specific home discussed. I gave too many clues, my fault entirely. Of course It’s a bit irresistible to sleuth it out! I’ve calmed down about that whole thing considerably. We had multiple second showings this weekend - so we’ll see. |
