There is usually an "All A" honor roll and an "A/B" honor roll. Your child would be on the latter. BUT, at my child's MS, they really make very little of the honor roll b/c literally 85% of the kids are on one of the two. You really had to dig deep in the website last year to even find the honor roll. It may be different in HS. In MS, they are trying to encourage all kids to believe they can do it.

My kids came out of Carson, and as far as I could tell there was no honor roll. If you had a 3.5 you could be in NJHS. And that was almost the entire class.

It depends on the Middle School and the High School. At my DCs’ MS and HS there is only an all A honor roll.

Our HS the All A Honor Roll was a 4.0 unweighted and it represented, pretty consistently, the top 3% of the class.

I don’t think there is a published honor roll at our MS.

Thanks to everyone who responded. DS really struggled a lot in ES and I’m proud of how much harder he’s working in MS. I’m hoping Honor Roll recognition will motivate him to keep up the good work. This is a kid with a lot of challenges and school has never been easy for him.
