Stressed & stiff-limbed Mom looking for the be-all-and-end-all of yoga dvds.
Any school / practice will do, I am just looking for something that leaves me feeling both challenged & relaxed. FWIW, years ago I practiced regularly but have not been able to get to a studio since having kids. Many many thanks in advance. |
| I haven't done them in a while, but I used to really like Barron Baptiste's videos. I was actually just thinking about pulling them out! They are a pretty good vinyasa workout. |

I like Baron Baptiste yoga at the studio but the DVDs get mixed reviews. Rodney Yee sucks.
A woman named Sadie Nardini is getting very good reviews for her power vinyasa yoga. And "Ease Into Ashtanga" seems to have gained high praise. I may order these. |

OP here: thanks for the recommendations, i thought this thread had died! I'm not crazy about Rodney Yee, a little too much beach & hair for me, but I'll see if Sadie Nardini is available at our library tomorrow!
Any other suggestions warmly welcomed. |
| Let me know what you think of Sadie. I'm thinking about buying her. |
| I highly recommend the Bryan Kest power yoga series. I've done levels 1 and 2, never quite made it to level 3 which incorporates lots of headstand-type moves. But levels 1 and 2 are definitely challenging, in a good way. I like the poses he uses, and I like that he's not too new-agey. He is a little new-agey, but not so much as to be annoying. |
| Not OP, but thanks for the Sadie recommendation! I love her Living on a Prayer chant (a must see), but didn't realize that she had videos. I'll have to check them out! |
