Is camera on iPhone 8 better than iPhone 7?

Anyone know? 50 dollar difference between iPhone 7 120gb and iPhone 8 64gb. If camera is better, it's worth it. Anyone know?

Go with the 8. I think camera is the same

The actual camera is the same, but the extra processor power of the 8 enables “portrait mode” which relies on software. If you don’t care about portrait mode, there is no real difference.

I’m not sure this is right. I believe the 7 and 8 cameras are basically the same. The 7 and 8 plus both have the portrait capability, which is enabled by dual camera hardware vs software.

I think they are exactly the same. Go with the one with the larger GB so you can store more applications and photos.

Apparently, there have been improvements to the sensors but not the lenses (for the + model at least), according to what I have read, and the result are much better.

I have no experience with an 7 or 7+, but will say it the 8+ is a huge upgrade from the 6 or 6s.

I actually made two mistakes. First, I wrote “portrait mode” when I meant “portrait lighting”. Second, only the 8 plus has that feature, not the 8. So, the only difference between the 7 and 8 cameras is that the 8 has a bit better video recording capability.
