Frederick turns blue

The savvier observer has always known Frederick City is pretty blue, while the county ranges from a sort of pink in Brunswick, to a medium red in Middletown/New Market/Urbana, to a robust red in Walkersville/Woodsboro, to a blood ruby red in Thurmont/Myersville/Emmitsburg.

But total victory for Frederick Dems today

Mayor: Michael O'Connor unseats two-term incumbent Randy McClement 5093-3184 (58%-44%), with ~457 write-in votes mostly for failed R challenger Shelley Aloi (who was a LG candidate in 2018).

For Aldermen, all five Democrats won - the lowest D candidate got 5,233 votes and the highest of the five R candidates got 2,960 votes.
