I have a Maclaren Techno XT and am considering getting a buggy board. If you have one do you like it and can the stroller recline while a child is on the buggy board?
Thank you! |
| We have one for our MacLaren stroller too (which doesn't recline, I forget what it is called, it is a really lightweight one). I love it but I think that reclining the stroller would make it awkward for your child on the boogie board to stand. |
| We have a MacLaren Techno XT and used a buggy board. LOVED it!!! Our first child was 23 months old when the second was born. We used a baby bjorn at first for the younger one and put the older child in the stroller (except on shorter trips when the older one walked). Then after about three or four months we got the buggy board. It was perfect for us. The stroller could recline, although it is a little more awkward to recline it all the way. Because we started with the buggy board a few months in, we were able to recline it just to the midway point -- which we did all the time without trouble. |
| LOVED our buggy borad. We are city folk and felt a double stroller was just too unwieldy. Buggy board worked great with our Maclaren. We did recline it and it worked fine. YOu can adjust the buggy board to stick out a bit further if you need it to. My advice: look for a used one on DCUM. I got two this way and saved at least $50 total. |
| Curious about this also - it 20 months too young for Buggy Board? |
|
I think 20 months may be too young for full-time use. We got one when our younger child was 15 months and our older child was 3.5 years. Well before he was 2 years, the little one enjoyed taking a turn standing while the older one got a break in the stroller. He was actually quite steady on it, good at holding on and not jumping off suddenly. However, I wouldn't count on it being a good long-term solution at that age unless you can somehow test it first.
For us, we knew our older child could have walked everywhere we went, but the buggy board helped us go further, faster and gave the older child something of a break. But the one on back still has to stand, and rather still, so it does require both endurance and cooperation on their part. |
