transitioning from home to FT preschool (3y)

Did you pick up your child early? After lunch? After nap? Or just let them go the whole first day (8:30-5:00) on their first day? The director in encouraging him to come the full day so they get used the schedule/routine - but it seems like such a big step (although maybe it is just a big step for me.)

My little guy stayed the whole day and enjoyed himself. I happened to be at school for a meeting that day and I was considering picking him up early, but his teacher walked by the meeting and said he was doing great. I know it's hard for teachers to call every parent on the first day, but if you get them to agree to call you if he's really having a sustained hard time, that might be a good solution.
