OMFG who the hell cares?

Why are there so many Chicago threads lately? I feel like it's got to be one person who is really interested in Chicago asking basically the same question over and over again in different ways. Why don't you just read the Dartmouth v Chicago thread.

head to head?? you mean like headbutting contest?

The UChicago forum on College Confidential has gotten really insufferable. If your kid is interested, have him/her visit or talk to current undergrads. It’s a fairly distinctive environment that few people come away indifferent toward.

Probably wins over Cornell, head to head or slight win against Brown and Dartmouth. Loses against HYP, Penn, Columbia.

I agree the UChicago forum on CC is by far the most insecure and navel-gazing of all the top school fora.

no way. this is a stupid thread but those schools have generations and generations of desirability and high-profile, engaged, successful (rich) alums. university of chicago is a school that's always been intellectual but only got hot in the last few years. The kids who went to chicago 20 yrs ago were smart kids who weren't well rounded enough to get in other places (or to be more generous, to want to go other places).

I assume the UChicago was supposed to be Yale?

Almost right, but Parchment is not 100% accurate. Princeton clearly wins by a lot. Columbia and Penn also win but less so. Parchment is heavily biased towards the midwest, which skews things in favor of Chicago.

Major Loss:
Harvard
UChicago
Stanford
Princeton

Columbia
Penn

Brown
Dartmouth

Cornell
