| DC planning to apply to Penn ED and Chicago EA next year. If she gets rejected/deferred from Penn and deferred from Chicago, she does not want to do EDII at Chicago. Can she still be considered fro Chicago RD in that case? |
| Yes that is what would happen if she is deferred in Chicago - it rolls to RD. But note, apparently (per the internet), the acceptance rates for Deferred EA candidates are pretty low - lower than the regular RD rates. |
Oh ok I had heard there it can also roll to EDII instead of RD so wasn't sure. Maybe you need to explicitly tell them if you want to roll your deferral to EDII, and otherwise they will roll you automatically to RD? |

You are in RD if you fail in ED1 |
We wouldn't be doing EDI, we would be doing EA. |
| Yes you would roll to RD but keep in mind that Chicago now uses the early pool much more than any other top school. RD there is a bigger crapshoot now than at any other elite. |
| She would be automatically considered for RD and could choose to be considered EDII. PPs are right that her chances of acceptance in that scenario are microscopic, but not impossible. |
