Anyone been through the montessori program at Claremont? I would love to know about your experience with the teachers, programs, length of day, etc. We just got offered a slot and I just want to know how parents feel about it. I honestly wasn't expecting to get on so I feel like I haven't fully researched the whole experience. Please let me know what you think!
Thanks. |
It is not the best of manners to repeat your question and post all over DCUM. Why can't you call the school for details, visit the school, and phone parents of children who went there? |
Because cold calling a bunch of strangers seems like much worse manners then allowing them to answer on a forum at their own convenience. I posted in TWO forums- regular and schools. Why is that bad manners? I am a stressed out mom that wants to do right for her kid and I am confused. I have less then 24 hours to make a very important decision and I want as much information as I can get before I make that decision. Maybe there are parents reading one forum that aren't on the other that could help me. Why is it so important to you that I only post in one location. Is posting in two locations really ALL OVER the forum. I realize that I am being neurotic but you are just being mean. |
I just went to the www.greatschools.net website and put in Claremont Montessori in Virginia. There are nine parent reviews which should give you some insight into the school. It's not focused on the Montessori part but might help a little bit...
Hope this helps. |
No personal experience but our son attends Claremont and last year took the bus with a couple of 4 year olds in the Montessori program there - parents were very happy with it and you automatically will get into the Spanish immersion program in first grade. The school itself is wonderful!
have another friend whose son did the preschool montessori program at another arlington school and raves about it -- son is starting first grade in Montessori at Drew this year. Arlington offers great schools and you can't go wrong in my opinion |
We live in Arlington - we have some "friends of friends" who have sent their kids to Claremont (not Montessori though) but have been really happy with the school. I've heard from other parents with children at other Montessori classrooms in Arlington public schools that they are very happy with those programs. I am hoping to get my son into one of the Montessori programs when he is old enough. |
