I'm really shocked by the police behavior here. I expected Fairfax County police to be better trained and above this.

| The "reporter" that works for a media company founded by a clinton staffer seems like a stalker to me. |
|
Police have a job to do at these events to maintain security for everyone present. Sounds like this guy had a chip on his shoulder and was belligerent to the officer. Never a good combination.
Also, that site is horribly biased. You can't treat it as if it's a legitimate news source. |
| He has media credentials. I don't think the police should be acting like a private security force to keep people from asking a candidate questions. |
| You can get arrested for cursing?! |
I don't think "shareblue" is a credentialed media outlet. That person isn't entitled to the same access as credentialed press. -- Liberal, Democratic voter. |
Who issued the media credentials? He's not a journalist. This is not how journalists behave. The only two possibilities for credentialing would be the police themselves or the Gillespie campaign. And I doubt the Gillespie campaign would give media credentials to a Democratic activist. |

Journalist or just regular dude-he didn't seem to commit a crime in that video.
|
| Don't be shocked: Google Natasha McKenna, and John Greer. |
|
I worked with him at Huffington Post awhile back, he's a real journalist who covered Congress back then.
|
| The article says he had media credentials to cover Gillespie. |
Try to keep up -- Shareblue isn't a news organization. You're acting like he's some nurse who refuses to turn over a blood sample without a warrant. That's not this. |
The article is covering its own reporter. I don't trust its reporting. I'm a real journalist. This isn't how journalists behave. They also don't wear jeans and a hoodie and film with an iPhone and claim to be credentialed press. The charges were disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The video evidence clearly shows those charges are valid. BTW, I vote blue. This kind of behavior muddies the water for both journalists AND Democrats. |

Idiots.
This was on a public street at a parade. Zero probable cause for this arrest. These dumbfucks are spending my tax dollars on an inevitable excessive force/unlawful arrest settlement because they are weak, insecure, poorly trained, and unprofessional. These morons do a disservice to legitimate law enforcement officers who recognize and protect the First Amendment. |
|
I don't know anything about media credentials or journalist etiquette but I thought the video was disturbing. He was rude to the police officer and the police reacted like third world thugs.
