| My kids love it, but I can’t stand it. All of the super creepy decor that makes my kid scared and have nightmares. All the parents dressing up like they are 10 years old. I just cant wait until it’s over. Anyone else? |

Sorry.
Love Halloween. |
| Best. Holiday. Ever! |
| Halloween is OK. Hate trick or treaters. |
| Hate it. People coming to the door and setting my dog barking every five minutes... |
| I love it! It’s a choice, OP. Life is too short to waste time being unhappy over a fun holiday. |

I love the historical meaning of Halloween - people seeking to protect themselves against ghouls and goblins. I grew up in Scotland, and read lots of stories and myths it. I don't particularly love the get-ups these days, or the fact that you just need to show up at the door to receive candy. In Scotland when I was a child, kids had to recite a poem or do a little show in order to earn their apple, orange or piece of chocolate - it wasn't enough to come in costume! |
| I'm pretty neutral about it -- I'm glad DD enjoys it and that's most of the fun for me. |
| I'm with you, OP. Hated it pre-kid, still hate it. |
| Hate it with passion! |
I never really got into it, then it was fun when the kids were first born, but with each year, I'm losing interest.

Yup. The decorations give me the heebie jeebies, the costumes are mostly bland, and the kids are largely rude. I LOVE most holidays, but could happily do without halloween.
I do enjoy carving pumpkins though

Neato. Did they do Guy Fawkes up there too or was that contained to England? |
Merry Samhain!

I like it ok. Today I took my mom to the oncologist's office and this couple walked into the waiting room, glanced around for candy. When they realized none was to be had, they started to loudly complain: "Why is there no candy? Can you believe it? It's Halloween and they're being cruel!"
Yeah, grown ups complaining about the lack of candy. This is when I start to hate it too. |
