First Day of MCPS Kindergarten? How did it go?

How was your child's first day of school? Did you like the school? Live up to expectations? Did your child have fun?

Everyone's too busy recuperating to answer...

there are way too many kids in my DD class--- its really depressing but private is not an option for us

There are 19 kids in my son's class (there are 4 K classes in the school). He had a blast! He loved riding the bus. He went to music class and loved it (the teacher is very upbeat and energetic). His teacher is fabulous and the school seems to be a very nurturing environment.

I was impressed with how organized the morning drop-off/bus arrival routine is.

FWIW to the PP about private school: As a product of a top private school in the MoCo, I can tell you that private school isn't the be all end all to great things. I'm glad we've opted for public.

12 kids in my kids class - very happy with that!

There are 17 in my DS's class. Went very well.

There are 26 kids in my DC's K class.

I'm sorry, but there is no way there are only 12 kids in PP's DC's class

Could be if it's a Title I school.

There are 26 in my child's K class. And he got on the wrong bus home. Not very happy right now.

Why would PP lie about a stat like that? She wouldn't. C'mon.

At Rock Creek Forest Elementary downcounty there are 12 kids in each of the two English K classes. There are 4 Ks but 2 of those are Spanish immersion. Yes, it's true.

Yup. Not to be picky but RCF is not downcounty, it's in the BCC cluster.

And I heard the S.I. K class at RCF had 26 in each class.
