you know, I run into trust fund kids and heirs everywhere except blue collar jobs. (although I know of at least one exception there). they become lawyers and doctors too. i mean, they are no longer financed by the bank of mom and dad for everything when they're sweating it out in their own job but they have gobs of additional money. there are a handful of people thought to have "family money" in my government law office. in at least one case, i know them well enough to have confirmed! i like my job too, but it is a little hard to imagine keeping it for 20 or 30 more years if i had no debt and at least several million dollars in assets. it's a little shocking to me, frankly. i can't decide whether it shows a lack of imagination or a real commitment to the mission of public service. |

Trust fund yoga teacher/SAHM.
Other trust fund friends- one studied art history at a prestigious school and went into fine jewelry. Another studied interior design and married super rich- jets around in private plane with household staff and nannies. Several guys with trusts- all have a biglaw or finance position with SAHM wives. Siblings with trusts also have a SAHP - one married rich one married poor- it doesn’t matter thanks to trusts. |
