Are designer jeans worth it? So far, I 've bought jeans from old navy/gap/banana republic which seem to fit fine. Am I missing anything? I was thinking that now that I am done having kids and ready for a new wardrobe, I would try some on and get a good pair. What stores/brands should I try?

In general, when the pricepoint goes up, there is more tailoring, more detail and better fabric and construction. I find the less-expensive jeans less-than-desirable in terms of fit. When I moved up, they fit better.
What you should get depends upon your body. I'd start off with the Denim Bar at Pentagon Centre. Ask for the manager (Jeff?) - he's terrific! They have a ton of brands and personally fit you. |
I have designer jeans and honestly, I find my Gap Long and Leans still fit me the best.
it just depends on your body shape. i agree with the above poster. my banana republic jeans fit the best. i've tried on more expensive jeans and they sadly looked terrible. buy what looks fabulous on you, not which label is fabulous.
Another vote for the Denim Bar! I love True Religion brand, but it all depends on your body type I think. Those just happen to be one that flatter me every time.
