Do all of the IAC high school teams play in summer tournaments?
Anonymous
They all do 1-2. But most of these kids are busy in the summer either playing for their club teams or attending individual recruiting events.

Some are more serious about it than others.

This is the link to the article about the Madlax (club) coach:

Are these individual recruiting events by invitation only?

One boy went to class while the other boy went into the woods. Having never shot a gun. he tried it, put the gun back in the car and went to class. A mom saw the "shooter" in the woods with a 'sniper rifle', and made a 911 call the police. NCS, Sidwell and St. Albans were locked down within minutes. The BB gun was found in the back seat of the car and the car was traced to the boys. The boys were taken out of class in cuffs and the incident was widely reported with dramatic video on the web.

STA acted quickly. The boys were barred from school for the remaining few weeks of the year (the lacrosse season had already ended) but allowed to graduate. Both boys faced DC gun charges. If anything, STA's quick action was deemed too harsh.

STA also put a specific prohibition against these guns in the student guidelines (page 6):

Guns were prohibited long before that incident.

Did these two STA boys end up playing LAX in college?

Only one of the boys played lacrosse at St. Albans. The incident happened in March so he missed most of the season. Nobody at St. Albans thought of this as lacrosse team related. It was thoughtlessness which could have ended tragically but fortunately did not.

That is a fun camp. Most everyone who has attended has enjoyed it. Great setting and a good selection of kids.

<crickets> - the reason that I asked for your source is that your question is one of the silliest ever asked on DCUM (and that's saying something) - so you should disregard anything your "source" tells you. Of course Landon LAX players play on club teams - there are very few teams in the area that don't include Landon laxers.

No, of course not.

Things are starting to happen in the aftermath of this article. Madlax had bought Chesapeake Rock as part of its expansion plans. Rock has now called off the purchase and has separated from Madlax.

If your son is on a Madlax team, you may want to consider trying out for other clubs. I hear a lot of kids/parents are running for the exits.
