Had a baby last year, lost all the weight, and then put a ton on when I weaned.
Swimsuit is out of the question. Just ordered a swimdress. sigh. . . |
| I wore a skirted bottom at the beach this summer. I actually thought it was kind of cute. |
| I got one this year too. I was tired of immediately putting on shorts or something else to cover my behind. Lots of women wear them - young and old. I saw one that truly sexy because of the material and how it just covered her butt. So don't dispair. |

I'm a fan of skirty-suits. I would be happy to see swimwear trend away from the hooker-look we've been subjected to for the last, oh, 30 years. I just don't want to see that much of anyone's skin, no matter how trim and fit they are. A little modesty wouldn't hurt any of us. So you rock that swimdress!
I would love to get a new one now while they're on sale, if anyone has links to post. I have a lands end tankini/skirt suit now, and while cute, it's just too heavy. Takes days to dry. |
| it CAN be very cute! don't fret! |
This is the OP. Attached is the link to the suit I bought. Turns out my colleague bought the SAME suit from Amazon. She loves it, and says it makes her feel like a rock star. We have the same build. OP again:
Also just bought this one for the person looking for links: http://www.overstock.com/Clothing-Shoes/Calvin-Klein-Womens-A-line-Swim-Dress/4127134/product.html?keywords=swimdress&searchtype=Header |
| That suit is really cute, plus it'll be nice not to worry that your bum is showing while crawling around and building sandcastles with the kiddos, right? |
|
Cute, OP! I'm sure it looks fantastic on you.
More links, anyone? I am a size 6-8 from my ribs down, but a size 10-12 bust up. Definitely need support (the little cups on that yellow swimdress would be downright obscene on me.) |
Thanks PP. I hope it looks okay. btw, the reviews about the cups on the yellow one say that even endowed women (I am not one) are okay in it.
This one is on sale, and would probably work well up top for you: http://www.amazon.com/Twist-Front-Swimdress-misses-12-OLIVE/dp/B001RRK1OA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=apparel&qid=1251394790&sr=1-3 |
| I love my skirty swimsuit! I also have a two-piece Lands End suit - it looks very much like a tennis outfit, black tank top with red and white stripe across my bust, and black skirt. I am a little chesty in it, but it's cut high and minimizes my belly/waist, so I more than fine with it. I feel very sporty and cute in it, and I can play at the beach with my toddler with nothing hanging out. |
| I have to say the yellow one was adorable! i was really doubting the skirted suit...the other two were ok...could be worse. |
| I just bought the yellow one. Great reviews and EXCELLENT price!! |

I got a gorgeous black swim dress from Land end.... It looked like a cocktail dress. The cleavage baring top was gorgeous. I had more men stare at me in that than any other suit I've had in years.
Also, I just discovered a website called "Always for Me" - I think from this site - and got a sexy size 16 suit. Sexy comes in all shapes and sizes..... |
| I love my swim shorts from Land's End!! |
