My 9 year old has adult body odor in her arm pits!

I had my period when I was 13 and my mother, sister in law and mother in law all had their periods when they were 14. I just noticed the BO when we were cuddling and she lifted her arm to put it around me. She still seems so little to be starting puberty, specially coming from late bloomer families. Anyone's daughter had early body odor, but a late period?

Body odor is not an indicator of early period. Breast buds are the biggest clue.

My DD started wearing it at 9. She is small and shows no other signs of early puberty. She uses Schmidt

That's when I started wearing deodorant. Teen spirit I think! I didn't get my period until I was 16, so I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. In 4th grade, our teacher told us we should all talk to our parents about getting some antiperspirant because we all smelled bad! The natural stuff doesn't work, take her to the drug store and let her pick out something.

normal to go through a time where it smells, then it goes away. Pueberty is sort of like kick-starting a motorcycle, it sputters to a start in fits and spurts then calms down and runs smoothly.

My DD is in 9th and has been fine for years, but in 3rd she was so stinky the teacher talked to me about it.

Besides deodorant, Have her wipe with alcohol once a day to knock out the germs

Most kids start wearing deodorant at about sixth grade. Have her wear regular as the natural stuff does not work.

If a teacher has to talk to you about your kid stinking, you are doing something very wrong. How could you not know? OP, don’t listen to this. Get your kid some real deodorant and be sure she uses it. My youngest is 15 and I still ask him if he remembered deodorant.

PS, your NINTH grader needs deodorant every single day.

Not sure about this. Used to teach 4th grade and many of the kids needed deodorant.
