Books about being different

Anonymous
Does anyone have any recommendations for books about kids who are different? My DD has physical special needs and is just starting to get questions/picked on a bit about the way she walks. She's also interested in sports and while I've encouraged her to participate (and at this level it's been fine), there will come a time pretty soon where she likely won't really be able to keep up.

Any other thoughts or ideas about how to prepare kids for these types of interactions with other kids would be helpful - TIA!

Don't have any good book recs but how old is your daughter? There's a great Daniel Tiger episode (Episode 131: Same and Different).

How old? Wonder is great. We listened to it as an audiobook. Then we listened the Wonder stories. Also great.

I don't have specific recs, but the site A Mighty Girl often has great book suggestions. You might start there and sort by age and topics: https://www.amightygirl.com/books/personal-development?cat=241

Thanks for the recs so far and apologies for not providing her age. She's 6.
