We're starting to think about retirement and looking to buy an apartment in the distant future in NYC. Although we've owned property in the DC area, I'm not at all familiar with NYC real estate, except to expect a lot less for the same price.
Some of the listings don't seem out of reach, but there seems to be some underlying issue that I'm not understanding. For instance this property has been sitting the market for a while - https://www.redfin.com/NY/New-York/150-W-87th-St-10024/home/45202730 Can someone enlighten me on what's wrong with it? |
Same with this one - https://www.redfin.com/NY/New-York/150-W-87th-St-10024/home/45202730
Is it just that it's overpriced? |
Sorry, meant to link to this - https://www.redfin.com/NY/New-York/322-Central-Park-W-10025/home/45337554 |
Hard to tell. Could be street level or overlooking the shaft. Likely to not have views of Central Park. I went to HS two blocks from there. It's an ok neighborhood but nothing to write home about though being on the park is nice. |
It's a cute unit, but it's street level so it won't have a view and the co op fee is almost $5000 a month. |
Okay, this is what I was missing. |
Did you see the one at 1399 Park Ave? It's a condo, and the fee is only $1676 a month. |
Sorry, curious - where did you find this? I don't see it on the listing, but could be glazing over it. |
I didn't, but that is definitely our style! Thanks!! |
