Greys Anatomy pairings

I'm rewatching Greys Anatomy and the romantic pairings seem so unrealistic.

Addison is way hotter than wimpy skinny whiney Meredith. Why would all these guys want Mer anyway?
Burke would never date Christina!! Ugh such an unrealistic pairing!
Every doctor would want to date Izzie yet she gets stuck with losers like George.

Why would someone like Callie want a beta chump like George?

Meredith and Derek had undeniable chemistry, some of the most brilliant casting ever. The story was always about their love story and for me it lost its' luster when Derek was killed off. Stopped watching it then.

I liked Meredith better than Addison btw, looks younger and fresher.

Meredith is more damaged so guys sense that. It usually means crazy good sex. Addison wasn't as good at meeting his narcissistic needs.

I think Burke would date Christina. He would like the challenge and her lack of needs.

Izzie is leary to trust men so dorky brother types like George pan out well.

I agree about Callie and think she doesn't realize her full potential because of growing up with her dad.

I also liked Meredith better and found her better for Derek. I did love Addison in Private Practice. I really wish that show would've stayed around.

Now I want to rewatch the seasons : )

I figured Derek was drawn to Meredith because she was damaged in a way that apealed to him since he was pretty damaged himself. In a fair fight I think he would have picked Addison but I thought with their history it was reasonable that he was seeking her opposite. He wanted someone who isn't glamorous. I agree that Meredith is not as pretty as everyone makes her out to be.

Burke was confused. He was attracted to Christina's talent and intellect and drive and they had good chemistry, but he didn't actually want a woman like her at all.

Izzie wants George because he actually cares about her for herself, not her looks. She has hotter guys hit on her but she's mistrustful of them.

Callie is attracted to badasses, so she was originally drawn to George because he was the "Heart in the elevator" guy, but deep down Callie is very family oriented and George is the kind of person you could build a family with. That combination was what made her fall hard for him.
