Where to advertise part-time job for non-profit?

Anonymous
I'm volunteering with a non-profit that's looking to hire for a few part-time marketing jobs, and I've been tasked with figuring out where to find candidates. But other than through my personal network, I have no idea where I would go to spread the word!

Ideally, I'd want to reach people who actually want part-time jobs (maybe someone with kids who wants the flexibility) and not people who are in reality looking to move to full-time (such as a recent grad or someone breaking into the sector). So where are DCUM people going to find jobs like this? Is there some board or mailing list that I'm not aware of?

Idealist or Craigslist.

Do people seriously find good people on Craigslist?

It is probably an issue of pay. Nothing wrong with Craig's List. As a SAHM, it doesn't pay for me to work $10-12 an hour for a few hours. $30 a day a few days a week is not going to make a difference in our lives. Pay $30 an hour and it might be worth it.

The ASAE job board. How do you not know this?

This.

But if you aren't paying enough for this to be a serious job, college job boards in the area may get you a desperate recent grad.

+1 I follow ASAE for exactly this. Another option could be Flex Professionals LLC.

can you post where you put it? I am a SAHM with a kid in preschool who wouldn't mind the extra cash.

This is in response to the OP's post. I often check out this website for job postings.

I would be interested to learn more about the opportunity. How may I contact you?

ASAE is for association jobs. Idealist is for non-profit jobs

I have had better luck hiring part-time local people on Craigslist than on Indeed and idealist.
