This is a run by a group (where I am a member) that are all families with a Jewish and Christian partner who are raising their children interfaith. These services are perfect if you would like to bring a non-Jewish person to High Holy Days. They're also great if you're Jewish and want a service that explains more of the traditions and incorporates non-Hebrew (as well as Hebrew) elements.
Very inexpensive suggested donation! Beautiful service, we go every year. There is also a children's service. http://iffp.net/highholidays/ IFFP’s High Holy Days 2017 IFFP’s 2017 High Holidays Services will be led by Rabbi Rain Zohav at The Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring! Rosh Hashanah Wed. Sep. 20th, 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., Erev Rosh Hashanah Thur. Sep. 21st, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Rosh Hashanah We will again offer a children’s service on Rosh Hashanah (Thursday morning)! IFFP’s Children’s Service is a self-contained service, including the blowing of the shofar, designed for the entire family. It will have the substance that adults will recognize from more traditional services, while adding special elements to engage children. Our aim is to create meaningful connections for the children to the prayers and rituals associated with the holiday, and our hope is that parents and children will participate in the service with us (as opposed to parents just watching their children experience it). Please note: this is not a drop-off service; we would like at least one parent to attend the service with the children. Yom Kippur Fri. Sep. 29th, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., Kol Nidre (Child-Friendly) Sat. | Thanks. We go to Hill Havarah on Capitol Hill, which is also great for interfaith families. But it's nice to have some other options. |
