Sorry but I just don't get West World!

On episode two and can't believe I'm still watching as I struggled to get through the pilot. All my friends rave about this show and we generally like the same shows. I just can't get into it. Does it get better or should I just throw in the towel?

It got a bit better/more interesting but I thought there was too much stereotypical male fantasy (I can screw and kill whoever I want) (can't remember when I gave up but probably somewhere around ep 4 or 5)

But that's the point. Not trying to spoiler, but you're still on the set-up before things go "wrong" (aka female sentience).

I don't want to spoil it for you, but it gets much, much better. There are a few incidents that occur which change the direction that show seems to be going in from your vantage point.

NP here, I gave up after a few episodes but now I'm intrigued. Maybe I'll give it another try.

I loathe all things western and sci fi but I like this show. I had to rewind and re-watch a few bits but it does get better.

I watched the when season and never thought it was amazing. That's just me.

It doesn't get better though. They run the idea of the male fantasy into the ground even when women are doing the shooting. I can't see how they would make a season 2.
