I want to start a venture capital firm. Has anyone done this? Tell me like I'm 5, how do I begin?

You might want to start by becoming an Angel. Time to buy out is shorter, the sums are less and eventually you could make the move to VC if that really floats your boat. While the return can certainly be handsome, the stress and the work involved is a lot more than most people believe.
