My daughter is turning 11 and (kill me now) likes to be "surprised" on her birthdays.
She doesn't want to give me a list of any sort "mom, you always buy me things I never even knew I wanted!"

Any ideas for a tween girl birthday gift?
I'm happy to buy a few smaller things or a larger gift up to $200.

My dd is 10.5.

She really likes spa stuff. Her and her friends play spa a lot. So face masks, eye covers (sleep masks), a diffuser, salts, makeup, etc.

A bose mini speaker sound dock if she doesn't have that already.

Some fun miscellaneous gift cards for a shopping spree or mall day?

I agree with a cool backpack. Mine is getting a fancy over priced backpack for Christmas because that's what she really wants.

Really good pastels or an expensive pencil or pencil crayon set if she likes art.

No OP but I have a daughter the same age. I would get a speaker but what device plays the music? Is there something I could buy like a CD player but that allows music to be downloaded? DD does not have a phone and won't for a few years. TIA and sorry for the semi- hijack.

Does she have an ipod? Most are by Bluetooth. Just a basic simple ipod is needed. I think anything else like spotify would need apps from an ipod touch, tablet or a phone. Basic ipods are not too pricey (providing you have iTunes to load on them). Other mp3 players might work from a computer music library but I don't know.

PP here. No iPod. I saw that Apple will only support IPod touches moving forward and we don't want the internet/texting capacity.
