Mitch Albom: Dropping kids off at college--Then vs. Now

Anonymous
It's funny, but our experience dropping our son off this week at a SLAC was much closer to the "Then" than the "Now". No Xbox or TV, one geeky poster on the wall, and he met with his advisor on Wed who helped him pick a schedule of physics, math, language & history.

Not sure if Mitch Albom is speaking from current experience. This reads more like a Fox News or Brietbart caricature of college. I am surprised he didn't mention the war on Christmas. Now we see how Trump won Michigan.

Agree. I've done move-ins at 2 colleges over the last 5 years and don't relate to most of what he said (including at Michigan, which is featured in the accompanying photo). But I think it's meant to be cutesy commentary, not fact based.
