| has anyone been?? any info on skiing/lake/summer activities? can you boat there? |
| No real boating, but yes on canoeing etc. Great place, especially for kids, lots of activities. |
| We rented a 3 bedroom condo -- definitely better than staying in the main lodge and getting a room there. I recall it wasn't that much more than getting the hotel room, but it was off-season when we went. |

Wow - haven't thought about Wintergreen in years.
I grew up in Richmond, VA and a lot of my friends' parents owned places there. I went once in the summer years ago and it was really nice. The condos are nice and there are great hiking trails, etc. I am not a skier so the off ski season would be more my thing and there seemed to be plenty to do. Enjoy! |

Great lake in the valley (right in Stoney Creek) - you can kayak, paddleboat, fish, swim. Sand beach, so bring the sand toys.
Hiking, playground at the top of the mountain, Wintergarden is beautiful spa and has indoor/outdoor swimming pools. There is a nature center with a children's room - gerat for a rainy day. They also have a summer concert series, huge farmer's market on Saturdays... It makes for a very nice/relaxing vacation! Fwiw, we always rent a house - plenty of space for hanging out during nap time. |
