Beginning tennis lessons in NOVA?

Anonymous
Are there any options for people who don't belong to a tennis club? DD (age 6) is interested in learning to play after her first exposure at camp this summer. All the places I know of through friends are linked to swim/tennis CLUBS, and we don't belong to any.

The tennis classes for kids this age run by Ffx County Parks are all held on Saturdays and Sundays -- when we already have soccer and swimming. Is there a place/website I might find instructors or other classes I'm not aware of?

My 4 year old takes lessons through the Town of Vienna Parks and Recreation. Their classes are taught by First Serve Tennis Academy and the day varies from session to session, but they're always on weekdays. You could go through the Town or just contact First Serve (they're in Arlington).

My daughter took tennis lessons at Sport & Health -SKyline for two years. Ms Carol is great! They have classes on weekdays and have several locations. I was a member but you don't need to be one.

My daughter took classes for awhile at Fairfax Racquet & Tennis Club. You don't have to be a member to take the lessons.

Another really good program is 4 Star Academy in Merrifield, located at the Four Seasons tennis club. Good clinic for beginners, but I do think it is on weekends. A lot of kids who start in that program go on to play competitively.
