Freaking out my kids bday party is at our community pool tomorrow right when it's supposed to be storming. We don't have a big enough place to have it at our place for everyone. No other options. And my spouse is fairly irate with me because Pool party was my idea that I thought would be fun to do. I guess there's nothing we can do but hope the weather holds. Anyone been in this situation before?
If you are absolutely sure there is no shelter at the pool and your house is way too small (most little kids don't mind being squashed), then cancel as fast as possible and reschedule for another day. Same thing happened to me a year ago!
does your pool have a covered space? Pools may empty the water, but not completely close - depends on lightning. and PLEASE remember, kids take so little entertainment...the fact that they are at a birthday party makes them happy. I had kids in my backyard doing sack races and balancing on a piece of wood, for goodness sake. you should have seen us try to do limbo - but ya know what, THEY thought it was awesome. Oh, and then we just let them run around for about 25 minutes with no adult interaction....it was probably heaven for them!
If the weather looks too bad, call all the parents and change the location to your local pizza place.
