Would anyone be able to provide any thoughts or experiences regarding the Potomac School's approach to encouraging (or in effect requiring) boys with summer birthdays to delay entering kindergarten until they are six years old? I realize that this is a common practice in this area, but wanted to know this school's approach. Are summer birthday boys almost always rejected, or is it more individualized? Are parents informed if the school thinks that waiting another year would result in admission? Does the school communicate with parents about this or other issues during the admissions process? Is there another approach?
Much thanks for any insights, and best wishes to all about to begin this wild process!
