My boys (a young teen and a 6 year old) have been doing quite a bit of swimming this summer. Both of them developed jock rash even though we wash suits and shower after each swim.
The mesh in the suits is the newer kind with a tighter weave and are pretty form fitting. I think this has made it worse . I prefer they wear suits with some kind of mesh and the nonetz are the only brand I could come across that look like what I want. Any experience with them or other brands I should look at? P.S. I hate trunks with the Velcro closures b/c the ties inevitably get stuck to them, shredding them. |

DH and DSs tried the NoNetz a few years ago and they didn't work out. At the beach they got a ton of sand stuck inside. At splash park type places and anytime they weren't in the water at the pool they were too hot. They all wear suits from Target now and those seem to be comfortable enough.
That said, they were recommended to me by a parent whose son is really sensitive and they work great for him. DH also occasionally uses anti chafing cream in that area. Maybe that would help. |
| What is the anti chafing cream called? |
| Wear jammers with board shorts on top. Swim team kids just wear jammers. I rarely can get my kid into your kind. |
| I cut out the mesh for both of my boys as it always leads to irritation. |
| Why do you want them to have the lining? It's so much easier just to go without. Like the previous poster, I just cut them out if they're in. |
