My young teen is big for his age. He currently wears size 18 old navy shorts but he was complaining that it was tight in the crotch. I tried the husky size, but he's not overweight so they looked oddly puffy like clown pants.
Forgive my ignorance on this, but do I start to buy men's sizes? Also can anyone recommend a brand that isn't a husky fit but is more roomier? He wears shorts about 3/4 of the year so we'll get plenty of use out of them. TIA. |

Yes - measure his waist and buy men's shorts. Old Navy boys sizing goes up to a 29 inch waist, but they might be cut differently than men's shorts with the same waist size.
You'll find a variety of inseams at any store. My teen DS usually gets his shorts at American Eagle. |
