Probably. Another school system and I dropped ours off the other day to the secretary no issue.

Ours will only take it at the time of the open house, for a specific time frame like 4:30=5:00. The line is long! They won't take it earlier.

Technically, I think medication has to be delivered to the equivalent of a school nurse or whomever is in charge of dispensing them. Many are controlled substances so just dropping it off at the front desk isn't a good idea.

Check your parent handbook for instructions. If they're not in there, let the school know once it starts. Call/email your school, but don't assume you can just drop it off. Plan to get up extra early on the first day and drop it off in person if all else fails.

Our school has a "welcome back" day where you meet the teacher.

Our school nurse is there to accept meds that day. You can also typically do things like set up your lunch account, drop off supplies in the classroom, etc.

Usually the admin has a key to the medication storage so I'd call and ask if you can bring it so they can store it for you.

Be careful with anything you drop off when school is not officially in session.

The year my first child entered middle school, we dropped off medication and all my DD's health documentation, dental forms, immunization history, etc. and they literally lost every single shred of it. Had no reason why, could not explain what happened. The stuff was gone forever and we had to start all over.

Which is why I now may copies and scan in everything that's important before I give the schools stuff. But that school ended up sucking in a lot of ways, so I guess I shouldn't have been surprised.

17:51 again. At our school, the clinic has to take it in, document it, go through the directions with you, make sure the forms are right, the bottle label is correct, etc. No way I would just drop it off at the office.
